Former Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen has revealed that Tottenham were the only club to show significant interest to secure his services and he did not have much options to choose from.
The 21 year old completed his move to White Hart Lane late in the transfer window as a potential replacement for the departing Gareth Bale who joined Real Madrid in a world record transfer deal.
He revealed that Spurs were the only club to who were determined to add him to their squad and he is convinced that his new team will pose a challenge for the league title this season.
Eriksen told Danish newspaper BT: "There were not that many clubs to choose from in the end and no-one were closer than Tottenham.
"There were a lot of rumours, but I only felt right about the approach from Tottenham. The club followed me for a long time and really showed intent.
"It was the whole package that attracted me. I spoke briefly with the manager and my impression is that he is a very good manager. The goal is to challenge for the title. That is what the club wants and that is what I want."
