Tottenham's young full back Danny Rose has expressed delight on having the manager's confidence and is determined to keep hold of the first team place.

  • Spurs were linked with a host of left backs this summer most notable being Fabio Coentrao but the north Londoners failed to sign any of the potential targets. With Benoit Assou Ekkotto being sent out on loan to Championship side Queens Park Rangers, Rose has emerged as the first choice left back for Andre Villas Boas.

Rose is excited on being given this opportunity and is eager to make the most of it.

"I spoke to the manager about the left-back situation and he assured me that if he still wanted a change, he'd come to speak to me first, which is great," Rose told the London Evening Standard.

"I wasn't looking to go anywhere just yet. I'm enjoying the run in the team and long may it continue."

"You look through the whole team and you see that you've got two strong players in each position and it's great," added Rose. "We've got a very good squad."
