Arsenal's board of directors are hopeful that manager Arsene Wenger will agree to a new contract before the New Year. Arsenal chairman Ivan Gazidis wants French manager Wenger to sign a brand new four year contract at the Emirates.
In recent years, Arsenal manager Wenger has found his relationship with the club's fans strained after eight successive seasons without winning any silverware. However, the club's board have always maintained that Arsene is the right man to take the club forward.
Chairman Ivan Gazidis is ready to sit down and discuss a mega money deal with Wenger, reportedly worth around £8 million a season. With Wenger's current deal expiring next summer, Arsenal want to ensure that their current manager continues his spell at the Emirates and will pay big to secure his signature.
With of the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Real Madrid all huge fans of Wenger; the board are hoping that Wenger continues his 17 year stay at the club and commit to Arsenal for the forseeable future.
