Olympique Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis has confirmed that he will spend the remainder of the season at the French club after having been linked with a move to England this summer.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • The 28 year old was linked with a move to Newcastle United all summer but the deal fell through at the last moment as he failed to agree personal terms with the Magpies. The striker was intent on a move to St.James Park this summer but club president Jean Michel Aulas was adamant to hold onto him.
However, the French footballer insists that he bears no hard feelings towards the club administration and he would respect the contract that he has .
Speaking to L'Equipe , Gomis said: "The chairman doesn't do only bad things towards me. He wanted to defend his interest and I defended mine.
"Now the transfer market is over and we have to work hand in hand again. I bear no grudge against him. I won't forget but I am just here to work.
"If I made a decision to stay, that means I respect the hierarchy. I will remain at Lyon until next summer."
