Carlo Ancelotti: 'No one trusted me at Paris Saint-Germain'

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he would have left the French Champions Paris Saint-Germain during the summer, regardless of an enquiry from Real Madrid.

  • The Italian manager helped the French giants win the Ligue 1 title last season before taking control of Los Blancos in June.

Ancelotti told L'Equipe : "Everybody thought that I left because I had Real Madrid, but this is not true. I made this decision as it had become too complicated at PSG.

"When I signed with PSG I believed in a project. New players were joining, a team was about to be built and this is something that takes time.

"The first six months were good, but the following year I realised that the management had changed their point of view. There was no project anymore, just an idea to get results immediately."

"I did not feel the trust of Leonardo and the president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi]. It is true that we had played badly, but I thought that after the good three months we just had, I would have a bit of tranquility. The day after, I told Leonardo that I would not coach PSG in 2013-14."
