13 October 2013 - 04:16

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend will earn a new contract following his man of the match winning performance for England against Montenegro. The Spurs forward has instructed his agent to open talks with the club regarding a new contract.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Townsend has spent the last few seasons on loan at other teams for more regular first team experience but has now finally forced his way into Andre Villas-Boas' Tottenham team. Deployed mainly as a left winger this year, Townsend has been a regular following the departure of Gareth Bale.

Tottenham and representatives of the player have opened talks over a new contract and it is understood that the player is set to triple his current base salary and will sign on a three year contract extension that is set to put the England star on a par with the likes of Michael Dawson and Christian Eriksen.
