Newcastle set for loan deal for Wilfried Zaha?

13 October 2013 - 09:27

Newcastle are amongst the clubs hopeful that Manchester United's out of favour winger Wilfried Zaha will accept a loan deal to St James' Park in the January transfer window. The former Crystal Palace star is currently fourth choice winger behind the likes of Nani and Ashley Young.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Zaha has been told that he is free to leave the club in January as the 20-year-old looks for regular first team football and pushes for a World Cup squad place with England next summer.

Crystal Palace had hoped to secure Zaha's loan signing back in August but incoming manager David Moyes ruled out a deal insisting that Zaha remains an important member of his first team plans.

The recent inclusion of starlet Adnan Januzaj in the first team appears to have pushed Zaha even further down the pecking order and the frustrated Ivory Coast born winger will seek pastures new.

Newcastle are hopeful that a deal can be agreed prior to the New Year period to beat off stiff competition for the youngster's signing.
