Newcastle United deny Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa exit talks

21 October 2013 - 00:37

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has dismissed talks insisting that the club are looking to sell off their defender Mapou Yango-Mbiwa in the near future, reports Sky Sports.

  • The former Montpellier man has failed to settle in England since his move to the Magpies in January, and his form has dipped as a result.

Yanga-Mbiwa has been linked with a move back to Montpellier in January, but Pardew reckons the player very much remains a part of his plans and can be a key member of the squad once he finds his feet,

“Everybody has the right to an opinion, but that particular one is not an opinion I share. We paid a lot of money for him and you’re looking for a bit of character in a player in this situation. That’s what we’ve seen from him." Pardew said.
