Liverpool are considering a surprise bid for AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy during the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old Italian International has been linked with a move away from the club since the summer transfer window despite insisting he is happy at the club. Shaarawy has been a key member for Rossoneri having scored 16 goals in 37 Serie A appearances last season.<br /><br />Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester City were recently associated with moves for the player.



Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is currently in need of an additional striker in order to tighten up their quest for Champions League football next season and is readying a transfer offer to land El-Shaarawy during the winter transfer window in January.<br />

Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the player's services.
