Italian giants Inter Milan could offer Thomas Vermaelen an escape route from Arsenal, as per reports from Italy.Â
The Gunners club captain has failed to break into the club's first-team following the excellent central partnership of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker in recent months and has recently insisted that he will decide on his future during the winter transfer window.
Vermaelen is keen to play first-team football in order to earn a berth in the Belgian squad for next year's World Cup in Brazil, and Inter Milan could be his next destination with the Nerazzurri manager Walter Mazzarri keen on bringing in an international centre-back having seen his side ship six goals in their last two league outings.
The San Siro outfit who were recently bought by Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir are keen to start a spending spree when the transfer window re-opens in January.Â
