Liverpool confident they can keep Luis Suarez

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that Luis Suarez will stay at the club beyond the current season. The Uruguayan star has had an excellent return to first team action, scoring six goals in six league games.

  • The player very nearly left Anfield for a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal back in August but decided to stay, whilst rumours of a move to Real Madrid continue to persisit.<br />

    It appears that Liverpool are now hoping the player declares his long term goal is to stay at Anfield and Rodgers hopes so too. The Northern Irish manager saying: "For me, this is the place for Luis. I still maintain that even if we were in mid-table this would be the place for him to be because this is a massive club &ndash; a global institution.<br />

    "But as a football club and as a team we are growing &ndash; and he can grow with us. Luis has the support of everyone at the club and the love of everyone and because this is a worldwide institution, there is no better place for him to grow."
