Monaco ready move for Vincent Kompany

29 October 2013 - 15:41

According to reports from France, Monaco will make a January transfer swoop for Belgium international Vincent Kompany. The Manchester City captain has struggled to reproduce the form that made him one of the Premier League's most feared defenders in recent months.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Monaco are ready to make a massive 50 million Euro bid for Kompany, if the reports are to be believed. Monaco's wealthy owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is a huge fan of Kompany and will reportedly stop at nothing to secure a deal for the defender.

It is understood that Kompany is very happy to stay at Man City but the lure of big spending Monaco could prove hard to resist.

Kompany still has a contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2018 and so City are well aware that they can command a huge fee for a transfer.
