Wojciech Szczesny pens new Arsenal contract

02 November 2013 - 08:40

Arsenal's first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has put pen to paper on a brand new contract at the Emirates. The Poland international has signed a five year deal with the Gunners.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Arsene Wenger has remained committed to Szczesny despite a number of high profile errors in previous seasons. However, the keeper has always insisted that his long term future will remain with Arsenal and has now signed a brand new contract worth a reported £85,000 per week.

Barcelona were amongst the teams closely monitoring Szczesny's contract situation, as the Spanish giants prepare for life after Victor Valdes, who is expected to join Monaco at the end of this season when his contract expires.
