Lazio to make bid for Cardiff star Aron Gunnarsson?

Lazio have been linked with a surprise bid for Iceland international Aron Gunnarsson. The Cardiff City midfielder has been a first team regular for the Welsh side this year and the Italian club will make an enquiry for the player in the January transfer window.

In recent games against both Norwich and Swansea, manager Malky Mackay reduced Gunnarsson's time on the pitch to a short spell as he looks to chop and change his squad ahead of the busy Christmas period.<br />

Gunnarsson is very highly rated by Italian club Lazio and the Serie A giants want to partner the Icelandic international alongside Brazilian Hernandes in a new look midfield for the second half of the season.<br />

The 24-year-old is still very highly rated at Cardiff but a reported offer of&nbsp;&pound;7.8 million from the Italian club could be hard to refuse.
