17 November 2007 - 00:54

Wayne Rooney has declared that he fully anticipates being a Man Utd legend after an impressive start to the Premiership season. Although Rooney is currently injured, Rooney wants to go down alongside legends such as Bobby Charlton and Roy Keane.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • Rooney has so far won his first Premiership winners’ medal that came last season, after having joined Sir Alex Ferguson’s side from Everton in 2004.

The 21-year-old said: "You play football to win things, to make people happy and to make history. If I can have half the success the Busby Babes had at United, I would be delighted.

"You definitely want to be remembered and not forgotten, so I suppose everybody wants to be part of history."
