Curbs backs McClaren

Curbs backs McClaren

17 November 2007 - 00:59

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has backed under pressure England boss Steve McClaren, warning that he feels the FA should not make any swift decision to remove McClaren from his post.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • England's fate is not in their hands as if Russia collect full points from the remaining two qualifiers and Croatia win against Macedonia, the Three Lions will miss out of the Austria and Switzerland finals.

"The FA should keep cool heads in what is a difficult time and keep Steve McClaren whether we qualify for the finals or not," said Curbishley, adding in the London Evening Standard: "We have improved (as a national team) in recent times and we just can't keep on changing when things don't go to plan.”
