28 November 2013 - 07:42

Congo international defender Christopher Samba is a target for both Newcastle and West Ham as the Dynamo Moscow defender is reportedly returning a third spell in England with a move during the January transfer window.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • According to reports, the 29-year-old defender has told his agent that he would like to return to England to be with his family and is planning a transfer as soon as possible. Samba has already spent spells in England with both Blackburn and QPR, but Newcastle and West Ham are the newest teams to have been linked with the defender's signature.

It is understood that West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is particularly keen to sign Samba, having made the central defender his top priority signing during January. Newcastle are also very interested and have already made an enquiry to Samba's Russian club.
