Championship outfit Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Aston Villa's veteran goalkeeper Shay Given on a one-month emergency loan.

The 37-year-old was associated with a switch to the Championship club on a temporary basis having seen the club's number one Jason Steele receive a three-match suspension.<br />

The former Newcastle goalie has not featured for the Villans this season, after falling down the pecking order at Villa Park behind the likes of Brad Guzan and Jed Steer.<br />

The Republic of Ireland International is expected to make his debut for Middlesbrough on Saturday against Bolton Wanderers in the Championship.
