Manchester City are set to make a bid for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos during the January transfer window.
The Chilean manager has missed the services of Vincent Kompany for many games this season and this has made him rely on the likes of Joleon Lescott and Martin Demichelis for the central defensive partnership.
The Daily Star reports that the City managers will try to make the most of the 27-year-old's recent bust up with Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelloti, when the Spaniard got sent off against Galatasaray in the Champions League, by offering a tempting £20m bid for the player in January.
However, the player's wages could well prove to be the hindering point as City would be unwilling to pay a reported salary worth £6m per year, given the competition for places at the Etihad.
