Primeira Liga outfit Sporting Lisbon have reportedly placed a £12m price-tag on talented youngster William Carvalho, as they aim to deter the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea from making a transfer offer for the player in January.

The Premier League duo are reportedly keen on the 21-year-old youngster, but Sporting are hopeful that the sizeable transfer fee will turn attentions of the clubs away from the player, according to the Express.<br />

The Angolan-born Portuguese international dubbed 'New Patrick Viera' currently has a release clause of £40m, but the Lisbon club believe that a realistic transfer fee of £12m will be enough to keep the defensive midfielder at Estadio da Luz beyond January.
