  • According to a report from Turkey, the 25-year-old left back has been linked with a transfer to Anfield in the January transfer window for a nominal fee as the defender's contract at Fenerbahce will expire next summer. Erkin, who has 23 caps to his name for his country, is hoping to play regularly for Liverpool as he looks to force his way back into his country's national team. Erkin has previously spent time playing abroad for Russian giants CSKA Moscow and then returned to his homeland in 2010 to link up with Fenerbahce.

The defender is reportedly ready to open talks with Liverpool over a transfer move and has already instructed his agent to discuss a transfer with his current club.
