Sunderland's manager Gus Poyet is expected to be a very busy man during the January transfer window. The Black Cats currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League and are expected to spend a large sum of money to sign new players.
Poyet is confident that the arrival of some new blood in his squad will help boost Sunderland's survival chances and is already planning his activity ahead of the window which starts on January 1st.
It is understood that the Black Cats' top priority is the signing of a brand new striker and that scouts are already deployed across Europe to assist Poyet's search for a new player.
"There are so many things that I need to look at in January and, for the moment, I have to prioritise," said Poyet. "I am looking at certain specialist positions where I am convinced we need to strengthen."
