Former Gunner Yossi Benayoun joins QPR on a short-term contract

Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of former Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old Israeli International has been training with the West London club since his release from Chelsea during the summer.<br />

Despite interest from clubs in Spain, the talented midfield star opted to remain in England and sign for the Hoops, who are currently in second place in the Championship table.<br />

Manager Harry Redknapp revealed his delight at the signing of the former Gunner, who was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the English manager's reign at White Hart Lane.<br />

"Yossi is a good footballer, a top-class player. He's got great ability and is someone I have always liked. I actually tried to take him to Tottenham at one time. I think he will be a fantastic addition to the squad."&nbsp;Redknapp said.<br />

Benayoun could make his debut for the Hoops against Blackpool on Saturday.
