O'Shea nears new deal

18 November 2007 - 17:04

John O'Shea is nearing signing a new contract with Man Utd. The Irish international defender has been outstanding for Man Utd in previous seasons, and Sir Alex Ferguson has offered the versatile midfielder a new three year deal.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who plays in defence as well as midfield, has emphasised that he has always looked to stay at Old Trafford.

"The manager feels I am part of his plans, so we will wait and see," O'Shea told the Sunday Mirror.

"I have this season and the next on my current contract, but I am very close to signing a new deal that will keep me at United into my 30s.

"It is something I want to do. I want to stay here, everything is good and this is where I want to be. I have never looked to go elsewhere."
