Barcelona are apparently poised to make a January bid for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz, according to reports.

The Spanish champions were interested in signing the Brazilian International during the summer, but were unable to agree a transfer fee with the West London outfit.<br />

However, David Luiz looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge during the winter, having just featured in five Premier League games under manager Jose Mourinho this season.<br />

The Daily Star reports that the Catalan giants are hopeful of landing the 26-year-old defender during the New Year, as they prepare to make a bid in the region of £29m for his services come the winter transfer window.<br />

David Luiz joined Chelsea from Primeira Liga outfit Benfica for £21.3m in January 2011.
