Barcelona to make January bid for David Luiz

Barcelona are apparently poised to make a January bid for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz, according to reports.

The Spanish champions were interested in signing the Brazilian International during the summer, but were unable to agree a transfer fee with the West London outfit.


However, David Luiz looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge during the winter, having just featured in five Premier League games under manager Jose Mourinho this season.


The Daily Star reports that the Catalan giants are hopeful of landing the 26-year-old defender during the New Year, as they prepare to make a bid in the region of £29m for his services come the winter transfer window.


David Luiz joined Chelsea from Primeira Liga outfit Benfica for £21.3m in January 2011.
