Chelsea are reportedly poised to secure the signature of Southampton's highly-rated defender Luke Shaw in the winter transfer window.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is eager to acquire the services of the talented left-back as a long-term replacement for veteran defender Ashley Cole and a deal looks likely to be struck provided the Blues guarantee the youngster first-team opportunities on a regular basis.<br />
Shaw has been a regular starter for the Saints this season, having made 14 appearances for the South Coast club so far.<br />
Southampton will host Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League fixture at St Mary's Stadium later today.
