Argentinian youngster Lucas Romero, the technically gifted holding midfielder currently playing in his homeland with Velez Sarsfield, has been scouted by Manchester United. David Moyes is scouring the world for a successor for Michael Carrick.

David Moyes is scouring the world for a successor for Michael Carrick.The 19-year-old is famous in his country for his excellent ball winning ability and his uncanny skill to flood the midfield with mazy runs and pinpoint passes to his team mates. Romero has attracted interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Serie A side Lazio in the past. It is understood that many suitors have been scared off by his reported $16 million price.Romero has a reported $24 million minimum fee release clause in his contract. The holding midfielder is a long term target for several European sides and is expected to complete a transfer away from Argentina next summer.The hot prospect for the future has indicated that his long term ambition is to play for his country's first team and push for a place in Argentina's World Cup squad.20The 5 foot 7 inches tall starlet made his first appearance for Velez in 2012 and appeared over 20 times for the club.
