Arsenal are apparently considered front-runners to sign Fulham's star striker Dimitar Berbatov on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens in January.
The former Bulgarian international has shown glimpses of his old self in the last few games for the Cottagers.
However, the sacking of manager Martin Jol has tempted Berbatov into leaving the West London club, who are currently in the drop zone on goal-difference following the club's 6-0 thrashing at Hull last weekend.
With the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger keen on adding a top-class striker, who could have a calming influence on the club in January, Berbatov could well be the player to make the switch to North London in a few days' time.
