West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly keen on extending the contract of striker Carlton Cole, according to talkSPORT.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The former England international, who had been released by the Hammers in the summer, rejoined the club in October on a three-month contract, following a long-term injury to club-record signing Andy Caroll at the start of the campaign.<br />

Allardyce has insisted that the club are keen on renewing Cole's contract in the next couple of days.<br />

"Yeah, we've got that in mind,' Allardyce said. "We're talking about that (the contract) as quickly as we possibly can because obviously it needs to be addressed."<br />

Cole has notched up three goals in 12 appearances for the club this season.
