West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly keen on extending the contract of striker Carlton Cole, according to talkSPORT.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • The former England international, who had been released by the Hammers in the summer, rejoined the club in October on a three-month contract, following a long-term injury to club-record signing Andy Caroll at the start of the campaign.

Allardyce has insisted that the club are keen on renewing Cole's contract in the next couple of days.

"Yeah, we've got that in mind,' Allardyce said. "We're talking about that (the contract) as quickly as we possibly can because obviously it needs to be addressed."

Cole has notched up three goals in 12 appearances for the club this season.
