De Bruyne - closing in on Germany transfer move

Wolfsburg close to wrapping up deal for Kevin De Bruyne

06 January 2014 - 11:18

Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has moved a step closer to agreeing a deal to move to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The Belgium international's agent has been spotted watching Wolfsburg's winter training camp in Abu Dhabi.

  • Arsenal linked with new shotstopper as backup to Raya
  • Juventus and Roma to battle for 20yo Arsenal star

  • Patrick De Koster was seen on the sidelines monitoring Wolfsburg's squad in action thus sparking a flurry of transfer gossip in Germany regarding the agent's client De Bruyne finally making a switch to Germany.

De Bruyne has endured a difficult relationship with manager Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese boss arrived at Stamford Bridge and it is reported that the attacking midfielder requested a move away as far back as November.

With competition for places in Belgium's international squad heating up, the player is concerned that a lack of playing time at the Blues is seriously jeapordising his aim to be on the plane to Brazil for the World Cup next summer.

It is understood that Chelsea are ready to sell De Bruyne for a fee of around 10 million Euros, but there could still be an option of a six month loan deal.
