Mexes - on big bucks at Rossoneri

Milan consider defender sale

06 January 2014 - 11:47

AC Milan are considering letting central defender Philippe Mexes leave the club this January.

  • Mikel Arteta confirms big injury boost for Spurs clash

  • The French international is on €4 million a season which the club hierarchy and the Berlusconi family see as expensive. Both Tuttosport and Sportmediaset say that the player could be sold to mega rich Ligue1 club AS Monaco in the current transfer window.

At Monaco the 31 year old will be reunited with his former boss at AS Roma, Claudio Ranieri and the wages are not going to be a big concern for the club.

The Rossoneri have already signed French center back Adil Rami on loan from Valencia as a possible replacement for Mexes.

The former Roma player has 18 months left on his contract to run.
