Bayern sign Frankfurt midfielder

09 January 2014 - 19:18

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Sebastian Rode. The 23 year old becomes the club’s second signing after the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Like Lewandowski, Rode will be joining Bayern on a free after his contract expires in the summer.

Even though the deal has come into news now the club already knew that it was always going to happen. This is what sporting director Bruno Hubner said on the matter,

    “I knew nine months ago.”

The arrival of Rode could cast doubts on the future of several other midfielders at Bayern with Xherdan Shaqiri’s name being mentioned as one of possible departures. The 22 year old has made only three Bundesliga starts this season.
