Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood told reporters that there are big plans for Argentinian midfielder Erik Lamela. Juventus were linked with a loan transfer for the former Roma starlet but it appears Spurs have different ideas for the player.
After Lamela's father told reporters that his son is looking to quit Tottenham Hotspur, the long term White Hart Lane future of the talent has been in doubt and the 21-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a return to Italy.
However, speaking after Tottenham's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, manager Tim Sherwood ruled out a transfer away from the club for the playmaker: "He won't be leaving on loan in this transfer window. We know what a talented player Erik is and we also understand how players need time to settle.
"I really want to put him on the stage when he's ready to perform rather than let people judge him when he's really half-cooked."
