Evra chasing new deal

Evra chasing new deal

20 November 2007 - 20:37

French international left-sided player Patrice Evra is eyeing a new deal at Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to keep the Frenchman at Man Utd on a long-term deal after two impressive seasons at the club since joining from Monaco.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 26-year-old, who is the first choice left back at Red Devils, still has one-and-a-half year deal to run but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently set to get the former Monaco man tied down on a long-term basis.

Evra's representative Federico Pastorello told skysports.com: "Patrice is under contract until 2009 and he is very happy at Manchester United.

"He has a great relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and he has a lot of respect for him.”

"He would be happy to extend his stay as he enjoys playing with such great players and such a great club."
