Cardiff to sign Manchester United defender Fabio

Brazilian full back Fabio is expected to complete a deal to join Premier League strugglers Cardiff City this week. The defender has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford.

After a wholly unsuccessful loan spell at Queens Park Rangers last year, the defender was told that he is now surplus to requirements at his club and can leave for a nominal fee.

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is familiar with Rafael having worked with him during his time at Manchester United and the defender is now expected to make the switch shortly.
