Monaco striker Radamel Falcao looks likely to miss out on 2014 World cup in Brazil after suffering a knee injury. The Colombian was carried off in their 3-0 win over Chasselay in the Coupe de France.
Initial diagnosis suggests that the 27 year old could be out for the rest of the season and the summer World cup with cruciate ligament injury.
The statement from the club read,
"The player was hit in the left knee. [We] must await further tests in the coming days to clarify the exact nature of the injury.”
Colombia are in Group C of the summer tournament along with Japan, Greece and Ivory Coast. This would have been Falcao's first world cup for his country
