Manchester United have successfully completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Juan Mata from Chelsea for a club-record deal of £37.1m.
The former Blues player underwent the medical procedure at the Red Devils' Aon Training Complex on Saturday.
Mata revealed that he was keen on a fresh challenge following his Chelsea career, and also expressed his excitement over the opportunity to play for the Red Devils.
"I am thrilled to be joining United," He said on the club's official website. "I have enjoyed some very happy years at Chelsea but the time has come for a new challenge.
"United is the perfect place for me and I am excited at the chance I have to be part of the next phase in the club's history."
Manchester United manager David Moyes also hailed the Spanish midfield sensation as one of the best players in the world, and is confident that the player would bring success back to the club, who have had a torrid time in the Premier League this campaign.
"Juan is one of the finest playmakers in the game today and it's a real pleasure to have secured his signature," The Scot said. "I know our fans have admired Juan for some time now - he has always played well against us - and I know they will be delighted to see him in the red of United, starting on Tuesday."
Mata had notched up 33 goals in 135 appearances for Chelsea.
