Sunderland agree deal to sign Ignacio Scocco

27 January 2014 - 23:18

Sunderland have agreed a deal for the signing of Argentine striker Ignacio Scocco from with Brazilian club Internacional during the winter transfer window.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The Black Cats failed to land the talented forward in the summer, with the player rejecting a move to the club.

However, with Scocco unhappy at Internacional, the Black Cats reaffirmed their interest on his services and this has lured him into accepting a move to the Wearside, thereby rebuffing a move to fellow Premier League strugglers Cardiff City.

Scocco is likely to become the Black Cats' fourth signing of the transfer window, following the likes of Oscar Ustari ,Santiago Vergini and Marcos Alonso to the club.

Sunderland are currently placed 19th in the Premier League standings.
