Man City plot £38m swoop for Porto star

Manchester City are reportedly readying a bid in the region of £38m to acquire the services of Porto's star defender Eliaquim Mangala before the transfer deadline day.

The Citizens have been monitoring the progress of the Porto centre-back since the summer and have now decided to make the move for the player, with interest from Chelsea seemed to have cooled down over the past few weeks.



According to Goal, the former Premier League champions will tempt Porto into letting go of their player by making a mega bid of £38m before the transfer deadline day, but a summer move looks the most suitable option.



The arrival of Mangala could well spell the end of Joleon Lescott's spell with the club.
