Chelsea target Eliaquim Mangala to sign Porto deal

30 January 2014 - 04:30

Chelsea and Man City target Eliaquim Mangala looks set to agree a new four year contract with Porto. Premier League sides have sent scouts to monitor the centre back in action and had hoped to agree a fee in the January transfer window.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • A report emanating from Portugal sugests that Porto's president Pinto da Costa has been locked in talks with the defender for over three weeks and is now reaching a critical point in discussions whereby the Portuguese league champions have moved a step closer to agreeing a deal for the defender. It has been suggested that Porto value the defender at a massive £34 million.

The 22-year-old has been told that he must remain at the club for the time being and with that in mind Mangala is now ready to sign on the dotted line on a bumper contract.
