30 January 2014 - 04:38

Everton are hoping to agree a loan deal to sign Marseille striker Saber Khelifa until the end of the season. With Romelu Lukaku picking up an injury during the Toffees' last game, manager Roberto Martinez is planning to move quickly to sign the Tunisian international.

  • The experienced 27-year-old forward has spent three years playing in Ligue 1 with Evian and then Marseille, prior to that he had a lengthy spell playing in his homeland before finally jumping ship for Europe. The striker has attracted Martinez for his excellent teamwork and build up play and Everton hope the Tunisian will compliment the signing of Lacina Traore, who has arrived on loan from PSG.

Romelu Lukaku picked up a nasty injury during the Toffees' last game and is likely to be missing from action for three weeks, whilst other loanee Gerard Deulofeu will be out for a few more months.
