Russian Premier League giants Zenit St Petersburg are reportedly keen on signing Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen during this month.
The talented Belgian centre-half has failed to cement his place in the starting line-up since the start of the season, with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny preferred for the central defensive partnership.
Vermaelen, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, is expected to be a subject of a bid from Zenit during the month, as Russian clubs are allowed to make recruits until the end of February.
The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from Dutch outfit Ajax in the summer of 2009.
