Xavi wants rematch with Brazil

04 February 2014 - 13:14

Spain and Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez wants a rematch with Brazil at the World Cup to put right their loss at the 2013 Confederations cup.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Brazil beat Spain 3-0 in the final of the 2013 Confederations cup and the draw for the 2014 World cup means the two countries could meat as early as the round of 16 should the results turn out that way.

This is what 34 year old told FIFA’s official website,

“Here’s hoping! Or why not in the final?

“Obviously anything could happen, considering it’s a World Cup and the difficult group we’ve been drawn in - and their group is no breeze either.

“But football always gives you the opportunity to get revenge. Here’s hoping it’s at the World Cup and at as late a stage as possible.”

Spain are placed in group B of the World cup alongside Chile, Australia and the Netherlands.
