Agent hits out at Ajax

06 February 2014 - 16:58

Jaap Stam's agent has hit out at Ajax Boss Frank De Boer and technical director Marc Overmars.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Stam, currently working at Ajax as their defensive coach was linked with a return to his old club AC Milan after the appointment of Clarence Seedorf as the coach at San Siro.

Reacting to the speculation De Boer said,

"It would be a real shame if Jaap would be interested in Milan. Ajax invested a lot in Jaap and other former players."

However now Stam's representative Henk van Ginkel has hit out at De Boer explaining that his client's current contract will be evaluated at the end of the season, speaking to Voetbal International Van Ginkel said,

"I hear people from Ajax saying that they don't want to let Jaap go," "Frank de Boer even said that Ajax invested a lot in Jaap. But I'm wondering, what investments?

"I think this is all about money. Ajax asked Jaap to work over there, not the other way around, and now Ajax is acting like he must thank God for working at Ajax!"

Frank De Boer has himself been linked with jobs in England and Italy with Tottenham Hotspur and Inter.
