Arsenal target So'ton right-back as Sagna replacement

09 February 2014 - 04:58

Arsenal are reportedly looking at the prospect of securing the services of Southampton right-back Calum Chambers as a possible replacement for outbound French international Bacary Sagna in the summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Sagna has yet to agree a new contract extension with the Gunners, and is likely to leave the North London club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

However, the Mirror claims that Arsene Wenger has been impressed by Chambers performance against his side during the 2-2 draw at St. Mary's last month, and could make a bid in the region of £10m for the talented English youngster before the start of the next campaign.

Wenger is known for bringing the Saints' best youth talents to the club, having formerly signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.
