Manchester United eye Dutch duo

09 February 2014 - 11:37

Manchester United are eyeing a double Dutch scoop with moves for Kevin Strootman of AS Roma and Georginio Wijnaldum of PSV Eindhoven. Both players were part of Netherlands U-21 squad in the summer’s European Championships.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • Strootman has enjoyed an excellent season in Serie A with Roma who are second in the League table and in the Semifinals of Coppa Italia,, whereas Wijnaldum has had an injury hit season and has just returned for a struggling PSV Eindhoven side in the Eredivisie.

Manchester United have struggled this season and come this summer want to bolster their midfield to mount a title challenge next season. Should both deals go through it could spell an end to Tom Cleverly’s and Nani’s Old Trafford careers.

The Red Devils will have to fork out for both players; Strootman has been valued at about 30 million by the Giallorossi and Wijnaldum at about 9 million pounds by the Boeren.
