Fabianski keen on a fresh challenge

Lukasz Fabianski rejects new deal at Arsenal

10 February 2014 - 12:30

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski looks set to call it quits with the North London club at the end of the season.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Arsenal & Chelsea want to sign Belgian winger
  • The 28-year-old Polish international who joined the Gunners from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2007, never established himself as a regular in the starting line-up, and has made just four Premier League appearances for the club since January 2011, with Wojciech Sczcesny prefered as the number one.

Fabianski revealed that he will not sign a new contract extension with the club, as he is keen on a fresh challenge elsewhere.

"I want to be number one in the club and in the Polish national team. I have learned a lot at London during very positive and challenging periods," Fabianski said. "With biggest respect to this great club, I didn't accept the extension offer as I am looking forward to a new challenge in England or abroad."

Fabianski has made 71 appearances for the Gunners so far.
