Ajax post record profits

17 February 2014 - 17:04

Ajax Amsterdam have recorded big profits for the first half of financial year 2013-14.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The club have recorded profits to the tune of 23.9 million Euros. The figure is mainly down the sale of high profile stars that have now moved to the pastures new.

The Lancers sold Christian Eriksen to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, Derk Boerrigter to Scottish club Glasgow Celtic and Toby Alderweireld to Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

The combined sale of the three players not only bought in 18.8 million Euros in transfer fees but also helped reduce the wage bill by another 4.5 million.

The increased profit in the first half of the financial year has now increased the club’s equity to 95.5 million Euros. In addition the net turnover of the club has also increased.
