Terry backs Mourinho for job

Terry backs Mourinho for job

24 November 2007 - 15:08

John Terry has backed Jose Mourinho to take charge of England. Terry was coached by Mourinho at Chelsea, and several sources claim that Jose Mourinho is interested in the job himself.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Terry won two Premier League titles at Chelsea under Mourinho and, having left Stamford Bridge in September, the name of the Portuguese has been touted as a possible successor to sacked England boss Steve McClaren.

It would be an appointment Terry would roundly welcome.

"Jose is a fantastic manager and I would like to work with him again," the Blues skipper told Chelsea TV.

"To be with England would be fantastic. I'm sure he would love it and one day he could be England manager."
